At SupplySide West, October 4-8 in Las Vegas, Pharma Technology Inc. – the global leader in tablet dedusters and capsule polishers combined with metal detectors and loading systems for pharmaceutical solid dose production – will showcase two groundbreaking end-of-line machines at Booth F111.
For one, the PharmaFlex iSeries Deduster recently won an Innovation award from Medicine Maker Magazine. The latest model features several upgrades over its already-impressive predecessor, including an output increased by up to 20%, a more efficient dedusting process, and enhanced resistance to prolonged heat, alcohol and industrial detergents exposure.
In addition to the host of new benefits, the PharmaFlex iSeries Deduster offers all innovations available with the original PharmaFlex range of Dedusters, whose high-tech materials and innovative design allow dust extraction to take place on the spiral’s outer circumference, as close as possible to the path of the tablets. The result is an increased dedusting capacity compared to traditional units. At the show, Pharma Technology Inc. will showcase an iSeries CE model at a spiral segment height of 750mm.
Complementing the iSeries Deduster at SupplySide West is Pharma Technology Inc.’s PTG-V 1000LI Vertical Capsule Polisher. Offering premium levels of capsule dedusting and polishing, handles capsules ranging in size from T4 to T00 at speeds from 220,000-500,000 per hour (depending on capsule size). Each of the PTG-V line’s three models (800, 1000 and 1200, whose key distinction is height) are fully mobile, offer quick, toolfree dismantling and reassembly, and occupy minimal floor space. In addition, each can be dismounted without tooling, and cleaned via ultrasonic wave bath.
A polyamide/nylon rotary screw endless brush achieves polishing of scratches and blemishes on the capsule surface inside a 316-liter stainless steel cylindrical section. Suction stitches positioned throughout the length of the uphill conveying device also allow powder excess to be thoroughly removed. This vertical height-gaining design of the polisher part allows space for a metal detector and empty capsule sorter mounted on the same base, making the unit a 3-in-1 device. The empty capsule sorter removes empty or opened capsules via compressed air.
